GCMHP has held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 a public meeting entitled: “The Psychological Effects of War Traumas on the Family”.
The meeting was attended by displaced people in the camps close to the GCMHP centre in Khan Younis, southern the Gaza Strip
Twenty-eight women have participated in the meeting which was conducted by psychologist, Osama Freineh, who explained the signs and effects of trauma and the interventions made to help the affected people.
Mr Freineh also explained the changes that appear on children who have been traumatized in terms of their behaviours and social interactions, urging the families to be understanding when their children have such signs and to seek help immediately.
The meeting also provided the participants with the opportunity to raise questions and have answers regarding the psychological experiences they and their families have gone through.
