On the occasion of the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian Child, Gaza Community Mental Health programme participated in a workshop organized by the Independent Commission for Human Rights on 13-4-2025 entitled: ‘The Reality of The Right to Mental Health for Children in The Gaza Strip And Strengthening The Interventions of Civil Society Institutions”.
The workshop aimed to display the reality of violations and gaps that affected the right to mental health for children in the Gaza Strip during the genocidal war, and review the gaps and challenges facing civil society organisations concerned with protecting the psychological rights of children, and ways to enhance efforts and roles in this regard.
The workshop put forth a set of recommendations that would enhance joint action to reduce the effects of the aggression on health.
Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of GCMHP presented paper entitled ‘Psychological Interventions for Children and the Challenges Facing Service Providers’, through which he manifested the mental health reality in Gaza, especially for children.
The workshop was attended by representatives of human rights organisations as well as local and international civil societies working in the Gaza Strip.
