Delegation from General Department of Mental Health Visits GCMHP

A delegation from the General  Department of Mental Health in the Ministry of Health  visited on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Gaza Community Mental Health Programme as part of the efforts done to promote cooperation between the two sides to provide more integrated mental health services to the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.

The delegation included Dr Yehya Khader, Director of the General Department of Mental health; and Mr Hisham Abu Mudalal, Mr Saed Abu Al-Kas, and Mr Raed Elayan from the Coordination Unit at the MH department.

During their meeting with GCMHP Director General, Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, and Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Director of External Relations, the delegates were briefed about GCMHP’s current and future activities which are being done within the framework of the emergency response  to the crisis caused by the recent offensive against the Gaza Strip.  They also discussed ways of dealing with the challenges that mental health workers face during their provision of services.

GCMHP continues to organize and network with all local and international organisations active in the field of MH and HR to meet the increasing demand on mental health services.
