Swiss Representative to PA Visits Gaza Community Mental Health Programme

The Swiss Representative to the Palestinian Authority Mr. Victor Favrica presided a delegation on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, to Gaza Community Mental Health Programme with the aim of being introduced to the services it provides.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was taken in a tour inside GCMHP departments to see the actual work process and the delivery of the different services. Staff members also explained the mechanism and procedures followed in dealing with the clients.

The delegation, which included Ms Mary Gelberine, Director of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation; Mr Hussam Manaa, Senior SDC Programme Manager, was met by Dr Mohammad Abu Shahla, Head of the BOD; Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, the Director General; Dr Taysir Diab, Deputy of the DG; Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Director of External Relations and Fund Raising Department; Rawya Hamam, Director of Training and Scientific Research Centre, as well as other staff members.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Abu Shahla welcomed the delegation and thanked them for their unfailing support for the Palestinian people and how such support significantly contributes to improving the wellbeing of the community.

Dr Abu Jamei, made a presentation about the recent development of the local context and the most prominent challenges on the economic, political and social levels. In addition, he explained the methods used by GCMHP in providing services to the target groups, and the future strategic plans of the organistion.
