MSF – Belgium Discusses Ways of Cooperation with GCMHP

In order to explore methods of cooperation in referrals and provision of specialized mental health interventions, a delegation from Médecins Sans Frontières – Belgium,  presided by Ms Tove Ringmar visited on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 Gaza Community Mental Health Programme .

The delegation was received by each of Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Director of External Relations Department; and Ms Aisha Al-Basyouni, Head of Project Unit, who briefed them on the history of mental health services in the Gaza Strip up to the current state. In addition, they presented the services provided by GCMHP and the mechanisms of receiving and intervening with the cases as well as the referral methods.

On their part, the MSF – Belgium delegation presented the services they provide at Al-Awda Hospital, starting from the stage of receiving the patients till they are discharged, going through all the essential services they offer for them.

The meeting resulted in setting the guidelines and the general arrangements for the reception of the cases referred by MSF – Belgium by GCMHP to provide them with the needed intervention.
