“‘My Experience’ – Workshop Organized As Part of International Women’s Day Campaign”

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme organized on Wednesday, March 10, 20212, a workshop under the title ‘My Experience’ as part of a holistic media campaign – Let’s All Choose to Challenge –  launched on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

The campaign aimed at contributing to the accumulative efforts GCMHP and its partners are making to support women and change the wrong social perceptions which negatively affect their wellbeing.

Through the workshop, the space was open for women who challenged their hard realities and forced their ways through hardships, stigma and disabilities to success and empowerment, to share their experiences with the community.

The audience were touched and inspired by these experiences of gthese women who succeeded in bringing about positive changes in their communities.

It also created room for partner organizations to share their experience in working on women issues and present how far they have gone with their quest, and collectively come up with a set of recommendations to tackle the challenges they have faced during their work.  The workshop was widely covered by local media organisations.

Beside a vox pop video about women’s rights was presented in the workshop and published on social media, too. The video explored the public opinion on several issues related to women rights including the issue of inheritance, early marriage, the right to education and others.

This campaign was part of the efforts GCMHP is taking, in close cooperation with all the concerned organizations, to support women’s rights and change any wrong social perceptions that might affect their wellbeing.
