While the intensity of Covid-19 crisis situation is increasing in the Gaza Strip, Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has continued to provide a variety of mental health and psychosocial support services for the Palestinian community, espcailly for those who are either home-quarantined or in the official quarantine centres.
Among the services provided is telephone counselling and psychological first aid, the two of which have been expanded to cover the increasing demands on psychosocial support during the pandemic situation. Also the working hours of the hotlines has been doubled to 16 hours.
So far, 2000 quarantined people have been provided with Psychological first aid as well as specialized mental health services. These services also targeted the staff members working in the quarantine centers.
packages of sanitizers and protection tools have also been distributed to
the quarantined and the people who have mixed up with the infected.
