To Provide Psychological Support to Cancer Patients, HPCHP Delegation visits GCMHP

With the purpose of opening channels of cooperation, a delegation from Hope and Peace Cancer Hospital Project resided by Eng. Imad Almasri visited Gaza Community Mental Health Programme.

The delegation was received by both Director General of GCMHO, Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, and Director of External Relations and Resource Development, Mr Qusai Abu Odei. 

During the meeting, the delegation introduced the services and the activities of their charity, explaining that there was a dire need for providing mental health support for the patients and their families and that the charity is looking forward to cooperate with GCMHP in this regard.  

Dr Abu Jamei, on his part, talked about GCMHP services and its social role and reassured the delegation that they will provide all that is needed of specialized services on whether on the level of counselling, psychotherapy, awareness raising, capacity building or early psychological intervention for the patients, their families or the health care providers.

The first outcome of the meeting was arranging an online awareness session for the medical staff members about how to deal with cancer patients and their families.
