Gaza Community Mental Health Programme receives a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund
Gaza Community Mental Health Programme (GCMHP) received a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) included Ms. Laila Tazi and Mr. Wasfi Abu Zanouna, Coordinators of child protection working group at UNICEF. Dr. Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of GCMHP and Mr. Qusi Abu Ouda, Head of Projects and Fundraising Unit welcomed the visitors; highlighting the most prominent programs and services provided by GCMHP to the Palestinian community. These services include primary, secondary and rehabilitation interventions, in addition to the Higher Diploma program in Community Mental Health.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Abu Jamei introduced GCMHP and its stages of development since the establishment in 1990. Moreover, he presented the most prominent programs and services provided by GCMHP to the Palestinian community, which include primary, secondary and rehabilitation interventions, in addition to the Higher Diploma program in Community Mental Health. Dr. Abu Jamie also shed the light on GCMHP’s awareness activities which aim at educating and raising the awareness of the Palestinian community in regards to mental health and human rights issues.
Further, Dr. Abu Jamei highlighted the objectives of the current strategic plan implemented by GCMHP, as well as the policies developed by GCMHP over the past years.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Abu Jamei emphasized on the importance of the continuous cooperation between GCMHP and UNICEF, stressing on the significance of such a cooperation in the coming period of time.
