Gaza Community Mental Health Programme finalized a training course entitled “Stress Management and Self-care”

In cooperation with Relief and Social Services Programme at UNRWA, the Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a training course entitled “Stress Management and Self-care”, with the participation of 19 professionals working at UNRWA. The training discussed two basic topics; the psychological trauma and stress management. It covered the three stages of psychological stress, the impact of each stage on people, and stress that facing the participants at their work, in addition to acquitting the participation with self-care skills using psychodrama techniques.

The two-day training course, with a total of 10 training hours, discussed two basic topics; the psychological trauma and stress management. It covered the three stages of psychological stress, the impact of each stage on people, and stress that facing the participants at their work, in addition to acquitting the participation with self-care skills using psychodrama techniques.

During the training, many exercises were carried out, including social nucleus exercise to help identify participants’ roles in the community, safety circle exercise, positive abilities and resources of the individual exercise, Yoga and other exercises. Further, those exercises aim at reducing the psychological stress and negative energy of the participants especially at work.

Furthermore, Ms. Jouda appreciated the participants’ commitment and their active participation, hoping that they apply what they have learnt from the training at their work.

On their turn, the participants thanked the trainers for their efforts, requesting from GCMHP to implement more trainings and advanced trainings in this field.

At the end, Ms. Jouda and the psychologist Abu Laila distributed the certificates and training materials on the participants.
