GCMHP Unit of Scientific Research and Training, and UNRWA Relief and Social Services finalized yesterday a training course on stress management and self-care.
The 2-day training was designed to provide the trainees with stress management techniques and self-care knowledge to help them better manage their professional and personal lives.
The training also included orientation about the downward spiral effect of stress and how it interferes with people’s lives and ways to handle it.
Twenty participants – social workers and managers from UNRWA – benefited from the training. They also had the opportunity to share their experiences in this connection.
“This training comes as part of the long-term cooperation between GCMHP and UNRWA,” said Rawia Hamam, head of GCMHP research and training department.
“I hope that all of the participants will pass on the knowledge they learned to their colleagues who didn’t have the opportunity to attend the training,” she appealed.
On her part, Hanaa Barakat, manager of UNRWA RSSP, said that staff members were had a real need for such a training which “equipped them with techniques to handle the work and life pressure”.
She also said: “This will be reflected positively on their wellbeing, and it will also improve their relationships with family members and colleagues, and therefore improve their service delivery”.
