GCMHP Department of Training and Scientific Research finalized last week a TOT in Psychological First Aid (PFA) in collaboration with Hayat Training Centre for Emergency and Crisis Management.
16 doctors participated in the 3-day TOT programme which was designed to familiarize them with the PFA manual.
The training focused on the PFA concept, its rules and its importance in the holistic response approach in crisis situations. It also provided the trainees with the techniques needed to be mastered in order to provide a safe PFA intervention.
During the training, the participants had the opportunity to simulate intervention in emergency situations. They also had the opportunity to reflect on the approach through which the PFA helpers provided their services during the roleplay and gave their feedback.
The PFA training is being provided in preparedness for emergency situation.
