GCMH Department of Training and Scientific Research has completed a training course on "Child's Mental Health", with the participation of 20 caregivers working in kindergartens affiliated to private institutions.
A group of specialists from GCMHP also participated in the training.
The course aimed at providing participants with skills and information on the stages of natural growth and development in children; the most common mental disorders among children, the different types of violence and child abuse and how they affect mental health.
The training also included the skills of analyzing children's drawings and practical applications. Mechanisms of interventions were also part of the training.
The closing session was run by Ms. Inas Joda, Head of the Training and Capacity Building Unit and Ms. Asma Naim, Project Coordinator in the Program. They all thanked the participants for their attendance and effective participation and encouraged them to practise what they learned. They also stressed the continuation of the joint cooperation between the program and the kindergartens in the future.
Then they listened to feedback from the participants, who asked for more trainings in a variety of related topics, including: the mechanism of dealing with children and parents, psychological debriefing, stress management and self-care.
In conclusion, certificates and training material were distributed to the participants.
