Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has held on Wednesday, 19 February, 2025 a training workshop on ‘Psychological First Aid’.
The training was organized in collaboration with the Health Cluster (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Technical Group)
A group of professionals working from different international organisations working in the humanitarian sector attended the training.
The training aimed to provide participants with basic skills to provide initial psychological support to those affected by crises, focusing on the principles of psychological first aid, communication skills, coping strategies, self-care and psychological resilience.
The participants showed interaction, reflecting the importance of building the capacities of humanitarian workers to support their communities to alleviate the impact of the crises.
At the end of the training, the participants demanded that more training sessions, especially in self-care and stress relief, in order to understand how to be able to overcome stressful situations in positive ways and therefore support themselves and others in their communities.
