GCMHP has participated on Monday, 26 June, 2023, in a workshop organized, on the occasion of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, by the Independent Commission for Human Rights.
During the event which was co-arranged with the United Nations Human Rights High Commissioner Office in Gaza, Mr Hasan Ziyada, a MH specialist from GCMHP, provided a presentation about his organization 3-decade experience in treating and supporting victims and survivors of torture and the work done to reintegrate them in the community.
Attended by law students from Al-Azhar University, and representatives from local and international organizations working in mental health and human rights, the workshop opened the space for discussing ways of enforcing the efforts that should put an end to torture, bring the perpetrators to justice and also redress the victims.
GCMHP participation comes as a part of its activities and campaign for
championing human rights, condemning torture as an inhumane practice and also
to mark International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
