IMC Delegation Visits GCMHP To Plan Cooperation

A delegation from the International Medical Corps visited Gaza Community Mental Health Programme on Wednesday, February 8, 2022, with the aim of discussing ways of cooperation in providing psychosocial services in the Gaza Strip.

The delegation which included Mr Eion Ryan, Director of MHPSS Division;  Mr Jassim Hameed, Coordinator of MHPSS Programmes; Mr. Muhammad Al-Batta, Director of Psychological Support Programme; and Ms Ahlam Saleh, IMC Psychologist, was received by Dr Tayseer Diab, Deputy Director General, Dr Sami Oweida, Director of the Gaza Community Centre, Ms Rawya Hammam, Director of Training and Scientific Research Department, and Mr Qusai Abu Odeh, Director of External Relations and Resources Development Department.

Upon their arrival, the delegation members were taken on a field tour in the departments and divisions of Gaza Community Center and the administration building to introduce them to the mechanisms of providing services to the different social groups. They were also accompanied to the Scientific Research Department, which produces psychosocial studies.

Following the tour, a meeting was held, during which the two parties presented their experiences in providing psychosocial services and discussed ways of cooperation in this field.
