Representatives From Belgium Development Agency (Enabel) Visit GCMHP To Discuss Cooperation

A delegation from Belgium Development Agency (Enabel) visited on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 Gaza Community Mental Health Programme to discuss ways of cooperation and be introduced to the mental health services provided to Gaza community.

The delegation which was represented by each of  Mr Jean Van Wetter, Managing Director; Ms Christelle Jocquet, Enabel Representative for Palestine – Jordan; Mr Guido Gryseels, BOD member, was received by Dr Tysir Diab, GCMHP deputy director general and other managerial staff members.

Upon their arrival, the delegation members were accompanied in a tour inside GCMHP’s departments and facilities to orient them about the work mechanisms and service delivery

Following the tour, a meeting was held, where the delegation was briefed about  the mental health state in the Gaza Strip and the different interventions done to protect the population’s mental health, while explain the gaps and challenges in the service delivery.

During the meeting presentations were made about GCMHP’s contributions and roles in the provision of scientific research and capacity building of community organizations.

On their part, the delegation members expressed their happiness to cooperate with GCMHP in the role it plays in protecting and supporting mental health in the Palestinian community.
