Ministry of Health Meets with GCMHP To Organize MH Service Provision

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has held on Tuesday, 20 December, 2022 a coordination meeting with the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. The meeting included Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General, Ms Aisha Al-Basiouni, Head of the Project Unit.

Representing the Ministry of Health, Dr Walid Sabah, Governmental Organization Coordination Officer; Dr Hisham Mudalal, Development Unit officer, and Dr Raed Elyan, Head of the Department of Services Organization and Integration, attended the meeting which was held in GCMHP’s main building.

Their meeting came within the framework of organizing mental health services and interventions between the Ministry and the organizations working in the sector of mental health and psychosocial support.

During the meeting Dr Abu Jamei  expressed his appreciation for the efforts  made to reinforce mental health services in the community, stressing the importance of cooperation between all stakeholders to serve the Palestinian population.

He also briefed the delegation about the mental health state of Gaza population, explaining the work and cooperation done together with other actors to alleviate the impact of stressful situation that the community is experiencing due to socio-economic challenges.
