A delegation from the UNRWA Relief and Social Services Programme visited the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme on Wednesday, 6 July 2022, in order to see the nature of the holistic services provided as part of the community mental health interventions.
The visiting delegation included 9 social workers, people-with-disability support workers as well as gender mainstreaming staff.
Dr Taysir Diab, Deputy Director General for Professional Affairs; Dr Akram Nafeh, Director of the Gaza Community Center; and Mr Qusai Abu Odeh, Director of Foreign Relations Department, received the delegation members and briefed them on the mechanisms of intervention used with the different cases and the treatment provided.
The delegation was also oriented on the different departments at GCMHP and provided explanation on the stages of the intervention work, especially that provided to people with disability and vulnerable groups, and clarified how gender mainstreaming policies are incorporated in all GCMHP’s activities.
