A delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has visited on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Gaza Community Mental Health Programme in order to be introduced to the strategies used in media and public communication and to discuss the possibility of cooperation in this regard.
The delegation which included Mr Klama Bosse Alexander, Communication Advisor; Ms Aanes Claire, Program Manager for Strengthening Youth for Stabilization Program in Palestine; Ms Nora Ashour, Program Adviser, and Ms Sherine Ben Saeed, Project Adviser, was received by Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, General Director; Mr Qusai Abu Odeh, Director of the Department of External Relations and Resource Development; Ms Nadia Madi, Head of Public Relations and Media Unit; and Ms. Aisha El-Bassiouni, Head of Projects Unit.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Abu Jamei presented a summary of GCMHP interventions, services and the activities related to public communication, explaining the various and diverse types of partnership with civil society organizations to ensure the promotion of the principle of holism in the provision of mental health services.
Following Dr Abu Jamei’s introduction, Mr. Abu Odei provided an overview of communication and outreach mechanisms GCMHP rely on to carry out its activities.
Then, Ms Madi Then, made a presentation in which she explained the ways and mechanisms of the GCMHP’s communication with the public and the tools used to enhance accessibility to various mental health services, raise awareness, promote human rights and correct social misconception.
At the end of the presentation, the delegation expressed its admiration
for the GCMHP’s strategies and mechanisms of communication.
