A delegation of PHD students from the Psychology Department of Al-Aqsa University has visited on Thursday, 15 March, 2022 Gaza Community Mental Health Programme, with the aim of arranging for having practical training at GCMHP community centres which are located in different areas across the Gaza Strip.
The delegation, presided by associate professor Niemat Olwan, met with Dr Taysir Diab, Deputy Director for Professional Affairs; Ms Rawya Hamam, Director of Training and Scientific Research Department; and Dr Mohammad Al-Zeir, Head of Academic Programmes Unit.
During the meeting, Dr Diab explained the pioneering role of GCMHP in providing support to the civil society through a variety of MHPSS activities which target different sectors.
Following the meeting, the PhD students were taken on an introductory tour at GCMHP facilities, where they were briefed on the tasks of the different departments and units and their work mechanisms.
At the end of the visit, Dr Alwan presented a thank you letter to Gaza Community Mental Health Program for its cooperation in providing practical training to Al-Aqsa University students for the second year in a row.
