The European Union Office in Gaza has met on Thursday, March 10, 2022
with Gaza Community Mental Health Programme as part of its field mission in the
Gaza Strip to follow up on the joint project entitled “Respect and protection
of the rights to mental health for women, men, girls and boys with and without
disabilities victims/survivors of human rights violations in the Gaza Strip”, which
GCMHP is implementing in partnership with the Women's Affairs Center and funded
by the European Union Office.
The meeting was organized to follow up on the details of the implementation of the project. It was attended by Ms Basma Adwein, representing the European Union Office; Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General, Mr Qusay Abu Odeh, Director of the External Relations and Resource Development Department, and M Aisha Al Bassiouni, Head of Projects Unit.
The project aims to promote respect and protection of the right to health through a human rights-based approach to provide comprehensive, integrated and specialized community mental health services to direct victims of human rights violations, including boys, girls, women and men with and without disabilities, in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
The project continues for 2 years from the date of its start in January 2022.
