GCMHP Continues Implementing Capacity Building and Health Care Activities in Cooperation with PHR & MoH

In cooperation with Physicians for Human Rights, Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has held on Sunday, February27, 2022 a group of medical and mental health activities in the Gaza Strip.

The activities were carried out by a group of doctors and mental health specialists from  PHR who visited Gaza from the Green Line, as part of the work done within the framework of “Unblocking the Future” Project which is funded by the European union.  

The activities implemented included medical services, and  trainings in mental health

Three training sessions were held simultaneously in three different venues at Al-Salah Restaurant, targeting a group of mental health professionals who work at the Ministry of Health and GCMHP. A second training day in mental health topics  was also held on Saturday.   The sessions were conducted by 5 experts, who gave training in ‘Trauma Incident Reduction’; Wechsler Test; and Woodcock–Johnson Test. 

During the implementation of the activities, Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, GCMHP General Director, and Dr Salah Al-Haj Yehia, head of the medical team, and Mr Qusai Abu Odei, GCMHP Director of External Relations and Fund Raising Department closely followed the work process through field visits to the places where the activities took place.
