In cooperation with ‘We-Trust’, and as part of its
social responsibility to raise the awareness of the community, GCMHP has
organized a group of educational sessions for parents whose KG children benefit
from project “Supportive Environment for a Better Future – Integrating Mental
Health Care into Early Childhood in Gaza ''.
The purpose of the sessions was to educate parents into how to deal their children, especially those who suffer from different psychological challenges, and also how to overcome these challenges.
12 offline sessions have been conducted by GCMHP professionals in march and April. The sessionms were attended by both the mothers and KG caregivers who together discussed the behavioural problems of the children, including bedwetting, anger fits, isolation, hyperactivity, autism as well as parental negligence.
During the sessions, the participants showed a great interaction and expressed their willingness to work seriously on changing negative ideas and trying to properly solve problems based on correct educational methods.
These educational sessions are to be held in all
the KGs across the Gaza Strip over the project’s period which continues until
April 30, 2021.
