Professional Supervision for Specialists to Deal with MH Consequences of Covid-19 Outbreak in Gaza
GCMHP has conducted on Monday, August 31, 2020 an online supervision meeting for its mental health specialists to discuss the mental health consequences of the complete lockdown, which has been enforced last week following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the Gaza Strip.
The spread of Coronavirus occurred simultaneously with the power outage and the already existing economic and political challenges, creating an incredible mental health pressure on Gaza population.
The session aimed at discussing how to provide effective psychosocial support for the community and also providing the professional with support and help them maintain self-care.
The session was delivered by the Italian MH specialist, professor Guido Veronese, who provided, at the end of the session, the participants with a guidebook of caring for caregivers during COVID-19.
At the end of the session, the participants agreed to continue the professional supervision sessions as planned.
