GCMHP finalizes three Training Courses entitled “The Psychological First Aids for Adults

In cooperation with the protection cluster and Save the Children Organization, the Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a series of training courses entitled “The Psychological First Aid for Adults”. The courses targeted three groups included 76 males and females trainees, working at different organizations; Body and Mind Center, TDH, MA’AN Development Center, Tamer Institute for Community Education, the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution and the Community Training Center and Crisis Management (CTCCM). A group of GCMHP’s psychologists delivered the training which took place at Al Mat’haf Hotel in Gaza city.

The training courses which included a varied number of important topics were delivered through 30 training hours. The main topics were; psychological first aid definitions, post-traumatic stress disorder, providing psychological support using different psychological first aid and self-care techniques, in addition to some practical exercises.

During the closing ceremony, the trainers appreciated the trainees’ active participation and encouraged them to apply what they have learnt throughout their professional life.

On his turn, Mr. Wasfi Abu Zanouna, the Coordinator of Child Protection and Psychosocial Support Group thanked the trainers for their valued efforts and dedication. He also appreciated the trainees’ interest and commitment during the courses.

In the end, the trainees highlighted the importance of the training which significantly added to their new knowledge and skills. In addition, they thanked the trainers and the organizers who made this training fulfilled successful and effective outcomes.
