Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Finalized a training entitled “Psychological First Aid and Staff Burnout”
In cooperation with the Training and Development Department at the Ministry of Interior, the Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a training entitled “Psychological First Aid and Staff Burnout”. The trainees were 23 Units’ and Departments’ Heads at the Ministry of Interior. Moreover, the finalization of the training was in the presence of Ms. Rawya Hamam, Director of the Training and Research Department, Mr. Ismail Ahmed, a Psychologist at GCMHP and Mr. Ashraf Abu Salem, Head of Training and Development Department at the Ministry of Interior. The training was conducted by two of GCMHP’s professionals, and it took place at GCMHP head quarter.
The 3-day training, with a total of 12 training hours, aimed at providing knowledge about psychological first aid for adults, its stages, the staff burnout and its implications for the trainees.
During the finalization, Ms. Hamam welcomed the trainees, praising the strong relationship between GCMHP and the Ministry of Interior as a key partner. Further, she highlighted that the Programme is very keen to provide services in the field of mental health, and human rights for the Ministry of Interior staff.
On their turn, the trainees praised the importance of this training, clarifying that they have gained new skills and knowledge. In addition, they requested from the Programme to conduct more trainings.
At the end, Ms. Hamam, Mr. Ahmed and Mr. Abu Salem distributed certificates and training materials on the trainees.
