A delegate from Quakers Services Norway visits Gaza Community Mental Health Programme

A delegate from Quakers Services Norway (QSN) represented by Mrs. Christine Hofland, Projects’ Manager at QSN visited GCMHP and met with a number of GCMHP staff including Dr. Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of GCMHP, Mr. Qusi Abu Ouda, Head of Projects Unit and Mrs. Samar Al Malfoh, a Project Coordinator. The meeting was held at the Programme’s headquarter in Gaza city.

Dr. Abu Jamei welcomed the delegate, appreciating QSN  partnership with GCMHP since 2007 and their effective contribution in achieving the Programme’s strategic objectives; especially their support for “Save Spaces to Learn and Play Refugee Children”. He highlighted that this project is the only one in the Strip which provides services for children in the kindergarten and their caregivers. He added that the project takes into consideration both gender. It also promotes the children’s participation in activities’ designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Moreover, Mr. Abu Ouda discussed a presentation about the impact of this project on the beneficiaries.

Furthermore, Mrs. Al Malfoh presented the achievements of the project during 2017, in addition to the project’s interventions in 2018.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the most important challenges and problems that appeared during the implementation of the project in 2017.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Abu Jamei thanked the delegation for their visit and their effective partnership with GCMHP; hoping to strengthen this relationship in order to improve the psychological condition for the children in the Gaza Strip. In addition, he stressed on the importance of this effective partnership between GCMHP and the Quakers Services.
