A Delegation from the French Parliament and the French Consulate in Jerusalem Visits GCMHP

The delegation met with Dr. Yasser Abu Jamei, General Director of GCMHP, and a number of unit and department directors in the programme. This visit aims to introduce the delegation to the services and activities that the programme provides in the field of Mental Health.

At the beginning, Dr. Abu Jamei welcomed the visiting delegation and gave them a tour of the Gaza Community Centre in order to present the services and methods of treatment interventions which the programme follows and provides.
Dr. Abu Jamei also provided a thorough explanation about the activities and services provided in the area of awareness raising, training, therapy, and psychological and social rehabilitation, while pointing out projects which were previously funded by the Consulate General of France in Jerusalem.

The current psychological and social conditions of the population of the Gaza Strip were also demonstrated through the various effects these conditions suffer as a result of the political, economic and social situation.
Finally, the delegation posed some questions about various activities that the programme conducts, praising its efforts in providing specialized mental health services to different categories of people in the Gaza Strip as a leading organiasation in the field.
