Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has initiated on Monday,July 6, 2020 a training course on ‘the Basic Mental Health Concepts’ as part of project ‘Psychological Support for the Most Vulnerable Girls in the Gaza Strip – School Counselling Units
The training, conducted by a group of GCMHP specialists, was provided for 15 governmental school counselors.
The opening session of the training was attended by Rawia Hamam, Director of the Training and Scientific Research Department; Mr Mohammed Al-Zeir, Director of Academic and Professional Program Unit; Mr Qusai Abu Oda, Director of External Relations and Resource Development Department; Ms Asmaa Naim, Project Coordinator; Mr Anwar Ahmed, representative of the Ministry of Education.
They welcomed the attendees and talk about the services that GCMHP provides including the preventive and therapy services, the free telephone counselling services and capacity building.
They also explained the topics that the training covers, which comprise children and adolescents’ behavioural disorders; drawings analysis; and family counselling.The course consists of 25 training hours over 4 consecutive days.
