A delegation from the University College of Applied Sciences visited the Gaza Community Mental Health Program in the middle of this week to discuss several topics, the most prominent among which, was the joint cooperation in the implementation of capacity building and occupational professional development projects for academics and university students.
The delegation proposed to the program to cooperate in several projects such as community awareness programs on the subject of gender and capacity development of mental health workers, as well as joint work to develop community service centers and clinics of the Gaza Community Mental Health Program.
In addition, the academic delegation, which included Mr. Osama Abu Ajwa, Dr. Maher Ajour, Dr. Ali Al-Khatib, and Dr. Sami Al-Nawajha, suggested that the GCMHP should train students from the University College to build their practical capabilities.
On his part, Dr. Yasser Abu Jamie, the Director General of the GCMHP praised these proposals, and discussed the actual possibility of implementation and also the challenges that may be faced during the work to implement them.
The two sides agreed to start studying these proposals to begin working on their implementation based on the results of feasibility studies for each of these projects.
