Director General Dr Abu Jamei Starts 3-Week Itinerary in The US To Present MH Situation in The Gaza Strip

Invited by Gaza Foundation for Mental Health, Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of Gaza Community Mental Health Programme, is visiting the United states where he is scheduled to participate in a series of seminars and meetings to present and discuss issues related to mental health in the special sociopolitical context of the occupied Palestinian territories.

On his first leg of itinerary –  which continues from January 26 to February 13, 2023 –  Dr Abu Jamei  visits Seattle, where he makes a presentation on “Multiple Traumas And The Social Matrix”, through which he explains the mental health state in the Gaza Strip and the impact of the recurring crises on the population.

He also visits Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Boston and Washington to attend and participate in seminars held by academics, officials and people specialized in the Palestinian affairs.  

The updates of Dr Abu Jamei’s contributions as well as the input of these seminars will be shared by GCMHP through its digital platforms.
